New Scam Alert!

Ho, ho, ho - here's a new scam targeting Town of Grafton property owners. If you receive a email like this one, it is a scam.

There are several things that will tip you off to fraudsters attempting to contact you on behalf of the town:

  • We are finding that they often confuse "Village of Grafton" with "Town of Grafton." There is no reason for a town resident to receive a bill from the village.
  • The bill, invoice or email will come from a source you do not recognize, typically out of state or even out of the country. Should you receive a suspect email, check the address from which it was sent. All Town of Grafton emails end with NAME@townofgraftonwi.gov.
  • The scammer may request payment via wire transfer or other online method. The town accepts payment via personal check, cash in person or online only through our website.
  • You are receiving an unexpected bill for an expiration, fee or other charge that you were not expecting.

When in doubt, do not hesitate to call us or forward the email in question. The last thing anyone needs is to be scammed out of money during the holidays (or any time, for that matter!).
